John Edwards’ Virtual Campaign Headquarters Virtually Vandalized!

A few weeks ago, this very blog reported that John Edwards has set up a campaign headquarters in real-time virtual community Second Life. In what must be a stunning blow to the campaign’s morale, earlier this week the virtual headquarters was vandalized by some internet pranksters, leaving it looking a bit like a Communist-themed version of Jim Morrison’s ‘grave’ in Paris. Internet speculation ran wild as to who was responsible, with Republicans, ultra-left wingers, and online merry pranksters The Patriotic Nigras all getting their share of credit for the gag.

The real question: how will this scandal, surely on par with Watergate, or at least the Swift Boats, impact John Edwards’ speaking fees at local colleges in 2009?
